You’ve probably heard of “…we have been saved by grace…” but do you truly understand what that means?
It comes from Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through FAITH and this is not from yourselves, it is the GIFT OF GOD.”
See what I mean? The key words there are grace, faith and gift of God. This verse is implying that we have been given God’s unmerited and undeserved favor (grace) because we believe. But also, this ‘believing’ is not from ourselves—Christ has granted us the faith to believe! Then, the ultimate result of us having faith and receiving grace is the statement that reminds us that all of life is a gift from God! Isn’t that just breath-taking? It means that NOTHING that we think, do, say, or intend is from ourselves! We have been given life and breath to serve God and live wholeheartedly for Him alone.
Saint Augustine said: “Nothing whatever pertaining to GODLINESS and real HOLINESS can be accomplished without grace.”
May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His GRACE gave us eternal encouragement and GOOD HOPE, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed & word. 2 Thess. 2:16-17
Hope you found new strength from this post!
