Discovering What It Means To Be Selfless – Day 2

Day 2 of Discovering What It Means To Be Selfless is about loving others just as I love myself and showing that by being sympathetic and like-minded in Christ. This is quite a big issue! It’s the second greatest commandment … Continue reading

A Simple Smile….Does a world of good!

How’s your facial expression today? Have you smiled?

In last night’s sermon, Preacher Milton shared how, when an old uncle, who was sweeping the leaves to one side, smiled at him, what an encouragement it was to Milton! He said that helping others also includes smiling.

“A simple smile can encourage a person!”

Daily Verse—April 17th

Unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

U on His mind

Romans 1:16

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, died for you on the cross of Calvary, more than 2,000 years ago. He paid the penalty for your sin and endured the pain that was rightfully your’s. He paid it all!

When one reads it in that way, it makes you ashamed of being ashamed of His Word. Can you honestly say that you’re boldly proclaiming His Word to the lost of this world? Or are you still ashamed of speaking up, nervously wondering who will be the first to laugh at you?

Daily Verse—April 16th

Well, today has been busy and my eyes are mysteriously closing subconsciously, so I’ll make this post short…

Joshua 5:1

“Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they[a] had crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites.”

When I read this, I understood that even during tough times, the Lord is still stronger and He can still make people’s hearts melt in fear because of His great Power! We are given the courage to: fight the Evil One, stand against temptation, and die with dignity—knowing Christ was/is the centerpiece of our lives…

Dedicate your life to Him today and your tomorrow will be filled with new hope, your today with new vigor and your yesterday will be crosses out of His Black List.

Daily Verse—April 14th

When some people stray from the Truth of God’s Word, they become discouraged, thinking that they won’t be received back by the Lord. However, this is NOT true! “The Lord, in His infinite Mercy, has granted us a way of escape” by which we might escape the guilt of backsliding. We are given a second chance. In fact, every new day is a second chance. USE IT WELL!

Some people need to be left until they are in the ‘sin pool’ where they will finally realize for themselves that they need the Lord. If they weren’t allowed to go into the sin pool, then they may not have come to their senses completely!

A friend of mine, in the first sermon that he ever preached, said that “…before we can truly change, we first need to hit rock bottom—we need to end up finding Christ the solid Rock!” The Rock of our Salvation! Today’s verse is taken from Luke 15:17 where the younger son finally came to his senses…

17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.

There is always a second chance, as long as there is life! Jesus is our Life!

Verse of the Day

I found this verse today, and it’s officially my new favorite Bible verse; it has always given me chills to read it and actually understand what it truly says!

Romans 8:37-39

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
